Football Reps Trip

Image result for transparent footballA couple of weeks ago I was selected to be goalkeeper for the representative football team on the west coast and for the last couple of weeks I have been training for it on Wednesdays. I have done reps last year when I was in the 10th grade and we came third which is a big achievement for a west coast team. I am excited for this years competition because it will be quite an experience for me and I hope I can get in the reps for years to come.

Co-ordinates

This week we have been learning about co-ordinates and how to understand them, I have learned about co-ordinates before so this was just a bit of remembering for me. Today I made a co-ordinates DLO if you want to see it, it's just down there.

Learning Spanish

These last couple weeks the same as Japanese we have been learning Spanish with Mrs. Prendegast in the class next door. I have had fun learning about Spanish because we have learned about some things like what countries speak Spanish and why so many countries speak it. Here is a link to my map of countries that speak Spanish (The Spanish Speaking World). I really like learning about Spanish and hope to learn more! Want more posts like this? Keep looking on my blog!

Learning Japanese

For the last couple of wees our class has been doing Japanese. In Japanese we have been learning the characters, the culture and how they live there. I also learned that Japan is around the same size as New Zealand but it has about 120 MILLION I repeat 120 MILLION more people than New Zealand, I was shocked when I heard this because I knew that Japan had a lot of people but I didn't think that you could fit that many people in that space. I enjoy learning about Japanese and am looking forward to learning more!

Holidays Review about Football!!!

In the start of the holiday I attended a football camp in Hokitika for three days and I have done a review about it just down here.

Fun Football Camp Review

Do you like football or have you ever been to a football camp? Well I have, just recently actually, and I enjoyed it so I’ll tell you a bit about it.

I signed up for this camp because soccer/football is my favourite sport. This camp was on the first Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of the school holidays. The camp was held in Hokitika in the high school gymnasium. I went on this camp with my friend Emil, he is football mad like me. On the first couple of days I traveled to Hokitika in Emil’s parents car and on the third day we went with my dad. (Just to be clear although I am calling it a camp we did not stay the night).

I really liked this because it had two professional coaches so the trainings were very structured, the way I like it. This camp had a good balance of proper training and fun games. We had a good amount of time to have snacks and drinks so we weren’t dehydrated or hungry. I think this was a very good camp and would do it again in a heart beat.

Overall I think this was a very fun football camp and would recommend it to anyone who wants to try football or likes football to do this.

Surprise speaker

Image result for jake baileys bookToday we had a surprise speaker and we had no clue who it was until our librarian introduced us to Jake Bailey. Below is his book that he has written about his times through cancer in a really touching way. He must have real guts to tell everyone about his struggles although his treatment didn't last as long as some kids that he saw in the hospital, one of them had to do chemo therapy for four years. The lessons that he squeezed into his speech were amazing. He is a really inspirational guy and I would listen to him all day.
